Eric Gossett is a former physics undergraduate at Southern Connecticut State University. His interests include developing computational methods to characterize material properties. Currently he working on the development of the Materials Atlas Project. With computation being an integral component of his research, he aims to use his experience with the Research Center on Computing and Society as a means to investigate the ethical implications of computer technology for the field of material science. Primarily, he aims to apply his experience to assess policy vacuums that emerge as ‘big data’ moves into the realm of science.
